Pottery Barn Engagement Party

Ben and I recently attended an engagement party at Pottery Barn.  Even before I was engaged, I knew that I wanted to register at this store. I love everything they have to offer!

When we arrived, we were greeted by sweet designers, who offered to get us a "mockarita" and showed us to this setup featuring several yummy appetizers. Ben kept asking if we could register for the guacamole. He swore it was one of the best recipes he has ever had.

Once we settled in, we started by filling out our registry paperwork. Even though we are getting married next April, the designers assured us that many of Pottery Barn products do not get discontinued. I spotted this Newlywed Cookbook right away.  With the help of Pinterest, I have had a new interest in learning to cook and bake, so this was a must-have on our registry.

The designers also provided decorating tutorials, outlining ways to use the signature and seasonal pieces to create various tablescapes.

We ended up registering for many items, but decided to hold off on bedding, dining sets and bath pieces until the wedding gets closer. I figure we will have a better idea of what we want by then. Ben became a master operator of the registry gun (as shown below).

To wrap up, the Pottery Barn team presented us with this cute favor, which was filled with white chocolate almond popcorn from a local shop. It was the perfect treat to wrap up our engagement party visit.

We also plan on registering at Macy's and MK's Totebags and Monogramming. We are considering Crate and BarrelWilliam Sonoma, and West Elm. I truly love West Elm, but we no longer have a store nearby.

Any thoughts on the best registry program out there? Do you have a favorite or one store you recommend? I would love to hear your suggestions.

  1. I highly recommend Crate and Barrel for kitchenware as well. My entire kitchen from dishes, glasses and serve ware is from there. They have some great entertaining pieces as well (like two tier stands and such). I love the Pottery Barn white collection for the kitchen as well. Registering is so much fun :-).

    1. Kelly, these are great suggestions. I'm glad to hear that you like collections at both stores. I definitely have to check out Crate and Barrel's kitchenware.

  2. How much fun did you and Ben have!?!? Love it! You can't go wrong with Pottery Barn, Create and Barrel or William Sonoma. All are GREAT!! Advice...remember your styles and tastes will change...try to keep your items simple, classic and timeless....that is one thing I regret! I wish we could all re-register every 10 years! Ross and I will be married for 12 years in July! Crazy, huh?

  3. Hey Sarah,
Awww, I loved the registering part of wedding planning! Have fun! :) Great choices. I did Dillards, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Bed Bath and Beyond and a few boutiques back home in Savannah. Don't let not having a West Elm near by hold you back. I registered for a lot of things online even when I had the stores near by. Sometimes there are more choices online than in the store. Have fun and enjoy every minute! :)
