Curious George Birthday Party

My dear friend Shawna hosted a birthday party to celebrate her son Beckhem's first birthday. She choose "Curious George" as the theme and asked me to help her plan. Of course, this was right up my alley!  I started by creating a Curious George party board on Pinterest. Shawna and I sat down to review the board and selected the ideas she liked best. After a thorough to-do list and a late night on the eve of the party, the "Curious Beckhem" party turned out beautifully.  It was a big hit with all party guests.

The present smash cake was created by a professional, but Shawna and her neighbor made two types of cake pops.
We found an Etsy vendor, Budget Birthdays, who created the custom cupcake toppers.
Skewers are my new favorite way to present fruit!
Also, notice the great tiering of the table. Shawna simply covered a box with a tablecloth to add this height.
I also love the "veggies in a cup with dipping sauce" concept.
I have done this a couple times now and it always goes over well.
This idea came from Pinterest.  Easy and quick!  Just freeze lemon slices and water in cupcake pans.
Shawna offered tons of little snacks for the all the kiddos.
Goody bags for the kids filled with lots of loot.
Shawna created a play area where the children could color Curious George pictures and then hang them for display.
We initially thought we would use kraft paper as table runners, but ended up not having enough. As we result, we hung the paper as a banner and let guests leave birthday messages for Beckhem.

My favorite part of the party - the mini loaves of banana nut bread as party favors!  Each loaf was wrapped in a Curious George cellophane bag.  (Sorry, there is no picture of this idea, but trust me they a wonderful way to wrap up the celebration!)
