Celebrating 5 years of blogging with gifts and giveaways: Day 5

Decorating through e-design is the most popular service I offer through Simply Sarah Style. For the final day of my five days of giveaways, I'll be giving away an interior decorating consultation package to one lucky reader!

People often ask me how e-design works, so I thought I would share an overview...

I start each project with an in-take phone call and questionnaire. Based on our discussion, I'll provide you with a digital mood board outlining a look and feel for your space. Additionally, I'll provide you with access to a shared Pinterest board where I pin variations of the suggested items for you to purchase. You can follow the Pinterest links to purchase the items directly, so you'll have all the pieces needed to create your desired look. With this option, I take the guesswork out of the design process while making assistance affordable.

Many times, Simply Sarah Style clients continue beyond the design boards having me shop for and style their spaces. This enhanced service is provided at an additional rate.

I thought you might like to see some examples of projects I've completed this year.

A Sunroom/Reading Nook

The design boards below were created for an empty sunroom space that functioned as an extension of the eat-in kitchen and a small bar area. This room featured hardwood floors and was surrounded by windows.

Working with the client, we decided to create a space that would be suitable for entertaining as well as lounging in the sun and catching up on some reading. Here's what I pulled together to reflect her desired color scheme of orange, green and neutrals:

When necessary, I can also provide a suggested layout for your space like I did for this client.

Studio Project

I had the pleasure of working with Lindsay from One Fine Day, a vintage furniture rental company in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. I helped Lindsay determine furnishings and layouts for a two-room space that would serve as a rental venue and her office.

The furnishings below were suggestions for the front rental room. Since Lindsay has a large inventory of vintage furniture, many of the items below would be replaced with similar objects from her collection.

And a suggested layout..

The second board provides inspiration for her office/consultation space. You'll see that I incorporated a dresser Lindsay already owned.

Patio Project

This patio project was so much fun as I love to entertain and believe in creating a space that makes having people over easy! The client already had a few pieces in mind like the fire pit, chairs and dining table. She also already owned a love seat glider and coffee table we planned to incorporate.

Isn't that teal heater dreamy? I couldn't pass it up! I had to include it. I'm also majorly crushing on that bench. What beautiful lines!

I also included ways she could dress up the patio door making it shine just as much as the other areas.

Lastly, I suggested a layout that incorporated the concrete pad and the couple's desired placement of the fire pit area.
