Cutest Show on Earth: A Circus-Themed Baby Shower

My friends and I planned a baby shower for one of our grad school classmates, Lindsey, and her husband, TJ.  We had a blast exploring favor, decor and food ideas for this circus-themed party.  Since Lindsey and TJ are expecting a little girl, we decided to focus on a red and teal color scheme to celebrate "their little peanut."  Below are pictures from the event.  Enjoy!

Welcome to the Big Top!
I attempted to turn my living room into a circus tent.
In the future, I would hang addition tulle to create a more dramatic circus tent look.
You live and you learn, though.
I made pin wheels for the first time.  They were so easy!

We had to add excitement for the guys... especially those who were attending their very first baby shower.

  1. LOVE IT!!! My daughter Jamie is expecting and is planning a Circus Nursery if it's a boy. Too cute - we'll be copying your ideas. :)

  2. Pattie,
I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the ideas! I personally love the circus and had a ball planning this shower. I think it will be a great theme for a nursery.

If you and your daughter are interested, I would love to showcase pictures of the completed nursery. I have posted on features on several of my friends nurseries.

Feel free to email them to me.

Thanks again for taking time to check out Simply Sarah Style.

  3. Hi Sarah, I stumbled upon your blog when searching for circus themed party ideas for my son's first birthday! And I'm pretty sure we have some mutual friends (from Highlands & nKY!), so I thought it was pretty cool that your blog came up in the top 3 on google. May use your tulle idea to create the "big top" if we have it inside (this June). Thanks for the ideas :)
