The Studio: A Creative Meeting Space

I'm lucky to work for a boss who is always ready to take things to the next level. I'm always inspired about the new works she has coming down the pipeline. One of the most recent ventures to come to life was the creation of The Studio, a creative meeting space that operates as an extension of our marketing agency. The space and design process was so inspiring from an interior design standpoint. I knew I had to share it with you.

Silver Lining Decor Office Tour

You guys know how much I love Silver Lining Decor's jewelry pieces! Rachel, the designer behind Silver Lining Decor and former interior designer, just revealed her office space and showcased it on her blog. I was in love! If I had an office space that was as beautiful as this, I would never want to leave!

I love the gorgeous, intricate frames. You could spray paint them any color and they would bring high impact to a room. Plus, they can serve as the perfect organization tool.

Beautiful, right? I especially love the dress forms. I must put them on my "to-get" list. I have a lot of necklaces that would be perfectly at home on one of these dress forms. HELP! My fireplace needs desperate love.

By fireplace, I mean the "fake" fireplace opening created by new mantle.

After hosting my last Christmas party of the holiday season yesterday, it is time to take down the Christmas decorations. This left me with the feeling that now is the time to tackle the opening of my "fake" fireplace. I have always longed for a mantle to decorate. This fall, my friend, an architect who was remolding an historical home, called me and asked if I would like a mantle. Well absolutely!

Here is what I have... The mantle and "fake" fireplace.

I would like a creative, unexpected way to fill the opening that creates some type of illusion. That is where Pinterest comes in. Of course, Pinterest saves the day. I have collected several concepts and am now evaluating the alternatives. This is where I need your help. Which do you like best?

I initially thought I would paint the opening black or drop black printed fabric down. Instead, I am considering putting a large chalkboard inside such as this...

After filling the space with a giant chalkboard, I considered painting the black fireplace screen that ~~my mom~~ Santa brought me to a bold color like shown in the "screen solution" photo above.

That is far as I am in the thought process. Any suggestions? I know much help is needed!

The Family Room Design Studio Home Tour

I recently had the opportunity to get to know Sita Montgomery from The Family Room Design Studio after coming across her blog on an a la' mode linky party. I was in awe browsing posts from her home. I love the way she incorporates hints of color in her neutral spaces and utilizes texture to create an interesting dynamic. Here is a short overview of the inviting places she has created within her home.
