Faking detailed wall design with vinyl stickers

I received the sweetest, unexpected gift from one of my best friends - fresh flowers straight from her garden. I thought they were too beautiful not to share, so I snapped a photo and threw it on social. To my surprise, people not only noticed the flowers, but they were gushing over the gold polka dots that line a portion of my kitchen wall.

Several people asked how they could get the look.

I'm excited to share this polka dot pattern isn't the result of wallpaper installation or a careful paint session. I achieved this pop of pattern with gold vinyl stickers from Jesabi on Etsy. The best part...the dots can easily be removed and repositioned.

I ended up playing with the pattern for hours. I initially wanted the scatter of dots to get thicker and more concentrated at the top. After spending too much time trying to achieve an effortless look, I folded. I decided to go with an more evenly distributed look and have been happy with it ever since.

This small little wall in our space is probably the most discussed feature in our home. Guests always point it out and ask about our approach.

I've even considering taking this approach to our half bath and trying out a pineapple pattern. Imagine how cool this would look on a charcoal gray wall!

I could get lost in the endless vinyl wallpaper options. There's certainly a design for every taste.

PS - I'm determined to install this bow design in a little girl's room. Any takers?

An Etsy Shop: Cora & Plum

I'm excited to share a new line of handcrafted products I discovered last month at the Oakley Fancy Flea. When I spotted these Ohio plaques made out of reclaimed wood and crown molding, I knew I had to inquire about a Kentucky one.

While the shop owner didn't have one on hand, she had made them in the past, so I headed to her Etsy shop - Cora & Plum - to place my custom order.

In addition to setting my sights on a custom Kentucky piece, I fell in love with her pineapple plaque. After all, you can never have enough pineapple-themed things, especially when hospitality is your middle name! I snagged the piece below.

Kate, the owner, also sold me on the wooden chevron accent pieces. You can pick from Kate's full palette of paint colors to mix and match for a combination that's perfect for your home. (I love the kelly green and navy combination!) Be sure to check out the placement of the wooden chevron pieces in this kitchen (see photo 2 in the listing).

Ready for the debut of my piece? I selected a neutral palette to ensure my Kentucky guy looks good no matter what.

Love what you see? Be sure to check out Cora and Plum on Etsy. You can also find Cora and Plum at the City Flea and the Oakley Fancy Flea (the O.F.F. Market).

Please note this feature was not a sponsored post, just a brand I discovered and loved.
I thought you would enjoy it too!

Sweet Piper Lane

I'm a big fan of supporting small businesses. There is something about a product made by hand that makes it extra special. While I enjoy lovely stationery from Target, TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Marshalls, I love all of the beautiful sets you can find on Etsy.

Ultimately, personalized stationary is one of my favorite gifts to give. There is nothing like pretty paper, especially when it arrives in the mail! My sweet blogger friend, Sara, from Social Sara, opened an Etsy shop - Sweet Piper Lane - this year and has a variety of gorgeous sets. Her choice in envelope liners are to do die for...

I love my cards from Sweet Piper Lane, especially the one with metallic polka dot liner!

The Covered Porch Designs

I stumbled across The Covered Porch Designs while reading My Sweet Savannah and fell in love with the designer Jenn's products. She creates stationary, invitations, gift tags and pillows using preppy, colorful designs. They are all so Simply Sarah Style!

I was delighted to learn that Jenn offers a design service especially for bloggers. I just received my sample pack in the mail yesterday.  Here is a sneak peak...

Just tell Jenn a little about yourself and she will send a design set especially for you. I don't think it gets much better than that! (Check out the unveiling of this design on The Covered Porch's blog here.)

The personalized bee design will soon be available on her Etsy site. The gift tags will run $15 for a set of 20; the notecards are $15 for a set of 10.

Did I mention the packaging was also beautiful? All the way from the paper sleeves the note cards came in to the shipping label... absolutely gorgeous!

If I had an iPhone...

I would buy one of these awesome covers from the Etsy store, Pretty Smitten!

Aren't they gorgeous?  I would choose the teal and orange (bottom left) or the navy and orange (top center) one. Unfortunately, I have an Android and they don't offer these covers for my phone. * Super Sad Face *

Gorgeous Gifts

Last spring these personalized checkbook covers from Monkey See Boutique on Etsy.com were my go-to items for birthday gifts. I love that you get to select the print of the fabric and the color and design of the font.

While shopping the boutique online, I noticed that the personalized checkbooks I ordered are now the sample pictures on the website. What a delight! I guess Shawna and my Aunt Connie's gifts turned out so good they became the models.

Now go write checks in style!

Etsy.com

Etsy is one of my favorite websites! It's like ebay for craft people. Most things on Etsy are handmade or vintage. I cannot tell you the amount of products I have ordered from Etsy for gifts or to decorate my house.

Here are some of my favorite purchases...

I recently purchased this newborn tutu for my friend Megan who is expecting baby Mia any day now. I have also ordered a big girl version for my god daughter Josie's birthday last year. Tutus are every where on Etsy, but Trinity's Tutus is who I order from. I love the quality and the owner has a great turn around time!

This is the "Design your Dream Wee Ones" Tutu by Trinity's Tutu:

I also just purchased this picture to frame for my master bathroom. It's a print of the painting called "Floater" by Robert Foster. I love the "relaxed" vibe you get from looking at this picture.

I am such a sucker for pretty stationary so last Christmas I gave these personalized note cards as gifts. These are made by Katie Dyd Designs.

Now here are some items I've been eyeing on Etsy and want to purchase...

I am totally loving the IKAT pattern. Here is a pillow from Turquoise Tumbleweed which I would love to own!

Here is another piece of artwork I would love to have in my bathroom. The style of the Etsy store vol25 is so fun and girly! What girl doesn't want to be told she is the prettiest girl in the land?

This print by the love shop is quirky and attention-grabbing.

I think these tumblers by the Preppy Polka Dot would be perfect for patio parties!

I absolutely love Etsy.com and check it out each morning to see the featured sellers for ideas on unique gifts and home decor. I highly suggest you hurry over to the website and see what treasures you can find!
